I am visiting my parents house this week. Most everybody here had left and I was sitting in the living. Much to my chagrin a bat came it and took a couple of laps around the living room then flew out. We found him later and set him free. I screamed like a little girl which is funny since I am quite a large guy.

Nice shots by the way.

Thanks! I was completely surprised to see this guy out so early! I had just finished grilling some chicken when I saw him flying around. Ran inside and grabbed the camera, my family couldn't figure out what was going on and why I was yelling "There's a bat outside!"

Awesome shots, not something you see very often. I am curious about one thing, the chicken you were grilling, did you ever get it to confess?

Nice. Never thought I would be jealous of someone with a bat shot, but I kinda am and kinda am not. :)

Coo! Coo! La! Rue!

Definitely not something you see photographed often.
Maybe he/she left the roost early because he/she was hungry.

I had a friend when I lived in the southwest that built a bat roost near his home to attract Mexican free-tailed bats, because bats eat a lot of insects.

I know that it was back in the 1960's when a scientist used a high-speed camera and flash (1000 fps) to film a bat catching prey.

Great capture, but these guys are a seriously tough catch in flight. I would know, I have tried.

We've one of the largest species around here the greater indian fruit bat (flying fox), and I've tried so many times for a in-flight shot, but they venture outside only after sunset. With my camera, I may as well be using a rock to take the shot.

Great work. :)

Yeah those are different alright :) How neat are those shots!!. Really unusual to see and what a sight, great work there.

All the best and loving these for BIF's, excellent.

Danny.

Nice shots.

And bats get a lot of bad press. They are actually a very beneficial and needed species. I have many of them around here and love them -- they can eat up to 600 mosquitoes a night. I haven't had mosquito bite in years! Lee
