What's new

Now I can use the old Braun hammerhead.

Interesting interpretation Derrel, you may be on to it. However, there is a bracketed distance for each colour i.e. the orange between 11' & 16'; do you suppose this indicates the sweet spot for each colour setting.

I see I will be doing some more testing today.

Thanks very much Dao, how did you find it, I searched & searched without success except for the sites that wanted $15 or more for a copy.

The first thing I noticed is that there should be a button where the hole is below the ready light.

Been away most of the day, got back & made Lasagne, popped it in the oven & now taking a break. I am too pooped to play with the flash now but will print out the manual.

We get great help here on the forum.

No, the bracket appears to be a ONE F/STOP "difference" in all three cases...see how it suggests a different aperture for each color-coded setting??? I see the orange-colored bracket, but it's not referring to the distances, but rather indicating which aperture to set the lens to. Can you find a full- and half-power switch somewhere?

You are always welcome! I did tried google, but it failed. So google is not your friend with your flash.

Since I'd been in this forum for a little while, I remembered there is a camera related manual site which listed on TPF thread (which is a sticky in hardware section and started back in 2008)

http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/photography-equipment-products/146000-free-manuals.html

And from there, I hop to the site that I remembered has a lot of old camera gears manual -> Butkus
And found the manual you were looking for there! :D

Summary

It turns out that the flash only works in the green auto position not the yellow or red. With ISO @ 100 & the lens set to f4 the auto green seems to work as it is supposed to. The flash also works fine in manual using the scales on the back of the flash. BTW the specs say the GN is 125 @ ISO 100.

The "Manual Operation Trigger", a button below the ready light is missing leaving a hole.
