I agree, neat idea indeed.
I have something similar, but it's more of a macro ring light. The donut/ring part is inflatable and it fits over the front of the lens...and it has something similar to direct the light from the head into the ring. I had a photo of it but I can't find it. :scratch:

Looks neat, but I wonder if it work for macro type work? It says 50-70mm are the optimal focal lengths.
