Cute - looks like some tricky lighting. A light box? I mean I can barely detect shadows down in the threads.

Love the lighting, very flat and even ... can I assume this is for product shooting? Not to pick nits but I see some specks in the black area. Would it help to try a longer lens, and maybe reduce the bulge toward the front of the subject? Looks like the front items are larger than the rear.

Well, it was sort of product work. It was a setup for a school photo club. I wanted the kids to work on "Ebay shots."

You got it. Two lights, with the nuts on black velvet, and white nylon making a tunnel. I hadn't planned on doing a shot, so I just had my phone, a Motorola X. The distortion is from the WA lens of the phone. I would normally have used a 100mm macro for this. Have to admit, I like the sort of odd perspective that it gives.

It's a nightmare removing white dust from black velvet; if I was doing this seriously, I'd use a lint roller, and touch up any dust that was left.
