Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Guys,

I was bored and drove over to Weehawken, NJ to get shots of NYC. What do you think?

Looks a bit soft. Are you running any kind of sharpening in post processing? Are you doing any post processing?

Since you say your photos are okay to edit, here is a quick one. Ran smart sharpen at a radius of 0.6 at around 70% and then ran it again at 0.1 radius at around 60%.

See what I mean? I'm going to be doing some more testing tonight.

Thx

It does look much better on flickr. Tiny pic makes it look worse.

Stuff always looks softer on this forum, even when you host the image yourself at the appropriate size... I think your flickr version looks a lot better, but I still would sharpen the RAW before resizing it.

Flickr seems to apply a fair amount of sharpening when it creates the resized versions; at least that is what I've found when comparing to the same shot on my comp.

Nice balance of colours. Really like it. I'd crop of the really black clouds on the top since they don't add. Also that way you get more of a skyline view imo.

I always do all my post on the full size version. The last thing I do is to resize it.

After resizing, you should sharpen again. A lot of detail gets thrown away on a resize, and depending on what method you use to resize, you can lose a lot of sharpness.
