Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I think I already know the answers to the questions I am about to ask, but I have to ask anyway. Right now being pretty new to photography I find myself constantly trying to take pictures. Constantly looking at things in a different way, thinking...hey, that would make a great shot. Everywhere I go I have my camera bag with me, thinking I might just run across something worthy of my photographic attention. I went to Walmart* earlier(which I hate, but it's all there is in this town) and grabbed my camera just in case. Every chance I get I have my head buried in Understanding Exposure, or other books, or obviously on TPF.

Every bad shot I take drives me to take 10 more just like it to make it right.

Here are the questions:

Am I alone?

Do the rest of you do these things? If so, what are your guilty pleasures?

Will it go away, or get worse(better)?

Some photographers start out that way ... hmm, actually that is not a phenomena that is unique to photography.

That is how I learned. Did that for about 6 months.

Will it go away? Yes ... will it get worse ? Yes
You will constantly increase the bar, so you will expect more and shoot less.

It will go away...good to hear. Not that I want it to go away, but with a child on the way I am thinking my time might need to be split. My goal is to feel confident to do some portraits when baby arrives.

Yep, it is our first, and we have been trying since we got married four years ago. You can say it is a blessing. I am really glad I picked up photography prior to this happening. I am really hoping to do a great job capturing all of the images associated with having a baby...but I am still not going to the shower...no way in hell!

I would say that is pretty normal. I throw myself into every new thing I do...hook, line, and sinker. I'll spend thousands of hours online, read hundreds of books, and then, generally lose interest. About 2-3 years is about as long as a hobby typically lasts me. I did pool, poker, shooting, table tennis, and now photography. Table tennis is the only one that that I don't think I could go pro at, but I'm still working on it.

For me, I pick up my camera when I have a shoot or I'll go grab it out of the bag if my daughter is doing something cute, but I'll go weeks without even picking up my camera.

Honestly, I'm afraid once the challenge wears off and the learning slows down, I tend to lose interest.

Remember, the only opponent you have is yourself.

One thing you have to remember ... the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts.
In Great images, everything in the shot works as a one.

I feel your pain/joy/obsession. :)

In the same boat. I also have to restrain myself from posting up every decent photo I take for CC so I can see what im doing wrong.

Oh, no way. I do not have the courage to post any of my pictures yet. I know there are a million problems already, don't need to throw that to the wolves! ahahahaha.
