Telephones, typewriters and 8 track tapes, are not the only things obsoleted by technology.

This seldom used, venerable old Privy; still stands at the end of the path behind the club house.

A technology I used many a time as a child.

Funny because it reminds me of something that happened in the airplane today. We have a very very expensive state-of-the-art GPS navigation system on the airplane and we had programmed it to direct us to a specifc fix but we were not getting the indications we expected. As the other pilot and I fumbled with which setting was wrong I told him, "Goodness, you mess with that and I'll fly using the trusty VOR Nav radio." I did. He did. He eventually figured it out and we got there with no trouble.

But, at first we were so engrossed in solving the hi-tech problem it took about a minute to step back and switch to the (very) old tried and true VOR radio. We get spoiled.

Oh, nice photo, but I think I would tell everyone else it is a shot of the greens keeper's storage shed. They won't notice vent.

I am sure many old timers and not so old timer has used these from time to time. Necessity is the mother of invention.

As it turned out the sun and shadows were positioned well for this shot. I like when that happens.
