Off camera flash options for k1000

but

Hi everyone im still a super amateur messing around with my k1000 for a few months now

I want to get myself a flash now but i want the option of using synch cord or some form of connection where i can hold the flash in my hand and still have the option of sliding it in the hot shoe for other times

I have read in a couple places and I was thinking about a Vivtar 283 and found a few on ebay with synch cords

does anyone know if i could conect it with my k1000
or even better
does anyone where i can get a flash that can do what im intrsted in

I always like the [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Sunpak-555-Handle-requires-module/dp/B0000BZYEV"]Sunpak 555[/ame]. It's not a shoe mount, but you can get (maybe comes with) a quick release bracket.

Thats an interesting one

I'm not necessarily looking for one that has a handle i wouldn't mind holding a common style flash in my hand I am just looking for the option of being able to hold the flash and make up my own angles for where i want the light to bounce off of for flash from

One of the best flashes you can buy is the Vivitar 283 WITH the sensor accessory cord.

bounce, tilt, decent cycle, decent power, and and the sensor is always positioned in front of the camera no matter the position of the flash itself


If/When you move forward to digital, careful with the trigger voltage of the Vivitar 283

I forgot to mention that the 283's newer sibling, the 285 is also a good option. 285HV can still be found new.

yea I decided in sticking with the 283 and im biding on some on Ebay now
