Off to the cup!

My son's girlfriend and sister wanted some more photo's while they where all dolled up for the horse races annual cup day.

This first one they wanted me to do as they where recently engaged and I was away for it. (Daughter in laws sister).
I feel its a little too tight on the crop. Anything else someone can see?

Another thing I spotted was the rather small catch lights, But thats cause I dont have the soft box's yet.

I'll leave technical points and lighting to others. my comments are making allowance for the circumstances.
Not bad photos.

#1 - you caught the young lady on the right perfectly, the one on the left is just a little lacking in expression, a decent photo but won't win any prizes. Photographing more than one person at a time can be a bear and when you catch them both perfectly you can jump up and down and punch the air!

#2 is OK, I think the model wasn't quite relaxed.

#3 I like.

#4 is cropped a little tight but that's a matter of taste - the sun specs on his head are definitely a loser, though; partly because they don't look like sunglasses and give the impression of being something slightly weird. Other than that I'd call #4 a good one - you caught great expressions, especially on her face.

Overall: At 18 you've got a good start IMHO. Work at it and you could be VERY good.

The girls are cuties. A little more twist in the body would help the full body portraits, really get the shoulders cranked around.

Thank you, I had some trouble with the girl on the left she didn't feel comfortable posing, where as her sister loved to glam it up. As for the sunnies I did get shots of him without them, but he thought he was a rock star with them.

Oh and Im not 18 some of the other people on here would know. I said that because I thought the photos had loaded and no one wanted to give me any feed back. It seems if people want to go pro with little experience they get a LOT of comments. :blushing:

I keep forgetting to do that. I might get myself some cards made up and check them over before I start.

It's because some people like to encourage young talent. Thanks for making me reluctant to do that again.
