How about a vertical format cropping to the 3 out of focus trees? It would give it more of a peek-a-boo feel. The little bit of body showing is a bit distracting.
I tried cropping it but it makes it very square looking and odd but I can see your point about it. The only thing I wish was that the trees were white birch. Thanks Eric!
If the herd in my area was a better quality and I had the patience to sit in a ground blind, I would bait them with something like C'Mere Deer to get them where I wanted to photograph them.
