OK, so what did Android screw up now?

Updated my Samsing Galaxy S5 the other day, and tonight I hook it up to my computer. It tells me most of the directories on my phone are empty.

So I check them on the phone, and all the files are still there. So what did the last Android update mess up now, and how do I fix it?

Yep, I upgraded to a 6 with absolutely no issues at all. Oh wait, that's right it's an APPLE (always works as it is supposed to) iPhone. My bad.

Ahhh, got it now. One of the empty directory's is the sense of humor directory. Okay, we'll play your way for a while. Since I don't use droids lets see if the Apple model is close for fixing such issues.

I will assume that Samsung has some sort of software for you computer that you can hook the phone too to do updates, backups, changes etc. Along the iTunes idea. Personally I find iTunes to be a bit of a P.I.T.A. but it does do what it is supposed to even if it is a bit Bass Aackwards.

Hopefully you have a current backup of your phone data on your computer. If not then ignore the rest of this post.

If so, plug in the phone and have the phone either wiped or reset to new status. With Apple that will delete everything and then reinstall the OS back on the phone.

Once this is done sync the backup of your data to the phone.

Apple ain't perfect, but they do realize that and try to make fixing the fuster clucks easy and painless.

So did you have a current backup saved before you UPDATED? you mean that first word in the first post?
Did you restore the phone and re-install the OS?
Did you then re-install the backed up data from before the update that caused the issue?
If so and you still have the same issue then your screwed until Samsung or someone else comes up with a fix.
If not then perhaps you should refer to post #4 & #5.

Never mind. I guess it's just easier to toss the phone out.
