Old lens on new camera. m42 on my Fuji

I wanted a sweet portrait lens for some work I have lined up in a few weeks and this came to me at a pretty good price. it gets reasonably good reviews, and from the pictures ive seen it renders people very nicely.

so without further ado...

Look at that....that is a 20 blade hurricane surrounding a perfectly round aperture.

manual focus is tough. the fuji makes it a little easier, giving you 3 options for MF, including two focus assist tools. split screen and focus peaking. I find focus peaking works best for me.
i tried to get some test shots of the ferrets, buuuuuut...they were not cooperating very well and i was running out of light. the few test shots i did manage to get were all SS 125, f/2.8 and ISO 3200.
Hopefully i can get some shots tomorrow that won't be at that high an ISO for a more realistic test of how this lens renders.

i forgot how tricky manual focus can be...

i think focus was more on the pan than the ferret. the DOF is super shallow at f2.8 and handholding is tough at 135mm.
