Thanks everybody. After much searching I found an adaptor that goes directly from Pentax k to Canon EF mount. What a deal. I will see when it arrives. Inexpensive too.

I have two lenses, specifically, that I really like.

One is attached to my right eyeball, and the other is attached to the left.


And yes, they ARE old.

I find that new lenses are very sterile. Yes, they perform well, they are very sharp and predictable (all very good things) but they lack character.

Older lenses are less optimized, but their technical, objective shortcomings accumulate into something greater than the something you can really summarize easily. I'm sure that optical engineers could look at how a lens performs and predict exactly what aberrations are at play that contribute to the "look" of a given lens, but often these flaws interact in a way that gives a lens an interesting quality that is intentionally minimized using today's computer-aided optimizations.

OTOH the Olympus OM 50/1.4 I owned was so outrageous that it was hard to predict how to use it.

Hey I've had several of those lenses. Traded it in for an Olympus TG4. Totally worth it.

Ahh. So you're one of those people who would take a classic car and put a fuel injector on it because that's more convenient than having to stick a pencil in the carburetor whenever you want to start her up below freezing.

I don't own any modern lenses for the D600, the newest one is 1978, the newest one I actually use is 1975. Everything I've shot and posted in the last few years has been with them. I prefer using them, I prefer MF.

Erm no. I'd stick a classic car in a garage and not drive it. Only classic cars I like have fuel injectors anyway.
