Yeah, it's me, self portrait. 22" PCB white beauty dish key with gridded hair light. I just bought 3 AB800's a BD, SB and grids for everything....something new to play with

Hideous!

Looks soft, don't know why. I should be able to count your eyelashes and I can't.

I like the lighting!

yeah, focus is off? Hard to nail the focus when I don't have something to put in the chair, I set it as close as I could on a teddy-bear, then set focus mode to Manual. Is there a trick?

Put something right where your eye is going to be and manually pre-focus?

Coat hanger, lamp, anything really. Just make sure your eye is on the same plane when you sit down to snap the shot.

So obviously more DOF on the second one, more forgiving.

What my eye is drawn to is the the angle of your glasses, it's making your right eye look funny. Otherwise I think it's great!

I tried this before and the focus was great. My trick was to use the Canon software while the camera is connected to the computer. You will be able to fully control you camera (f,SS and ISO) also you can move the focus point and then click the mouse and the camera will click

The focusing will be exact to that of the liveview.
