Old Weathered Log

Off a gravel road in the far 'burbs, while looking for waterfowl, I ran across this weathered log. Cloudy day, and that didn't add to the image, so I converted RAW to B&W, sharpened, etc.

I think a tighter crop to eliminate the overhead wires and road in the background and a touch more contrast in the conversion would serve this image well.

Thanks very much for your comments. I'm working on the image now in Photoshop; tighter crop eliminated overhead wires, and I've boosted the contrast a bit. Image already looks better. This log is a candidate for a re-shoot. I didn't have a lot of time the day I shot the original. I'll be back there later this coming week. The marsh north of there is a nice spot for waterfowl.
