Olympus, Cannon, Nikon Question from a friend.

The following is a question from a friend of mine. I've never used any of the cameras so I told her I wasn't sure but would check on here to see if any of you know. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have an older Olympus camera with several very good lenses and a flash. Will these work on the new Olympus DSLR cameras? Or am I starting over again?

Then, has anyone used the Olympus E-510 and compared it to the Cannon EOS400D/digital rebel or the new Nikons?

from short research...no, she can't use her lenses...though there is an adapter for them...so technically I guess she could if she wanted.
