Olympus SP500 - Advice please :)

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new around here and very very new to the world of Photography and I'm looking at getting a new camera and have been looking at the Olympus SP500.

It has the best of both worlds for a total beginner like me, with fully automatic and manual controls.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this particular camera and had any positive or negative feedback or could maybe suggest another camera within the same class/price range (around $400 australian)

Here in the UK we have a monthly mag called "What Digital Camera" which gives short, independent reviews, comments and scores for all the current range of digicams. If you have something similar in Oz you could do worse than grab a copy and read through it.
