You've got some great poses there, but the lighting is really letting them down, varying from extreme over to extreme under-exposure. A big part of the problem appears to be the fact that you're shooting a single speedlight, bare tube. This is a very small light source and the small the light source the harsher the quality of light. A small, easily portable modifier such as Lastolite's Ezybox line would help a LOT! They are inexpensive, produce excellent quality light, and fold flat for easy storage/travel.

It is a problem that I see too. The ideal would be if I had two flash. For now it is way it is.
The following improvements goes right to the lighting.
