On the Ranch

Seems like it has been a very long time since I last posted here. I've been very busy photographing very not interesting stories. However, here is a photo I recently shot that I quite like. This was for a feature on a Texas longhorn cattle ranch near the northern central coast of California. I pretty much just followed this rancher around as she did her afternoon chores and feeding. When she sat on the railing with the late afternoon sun behind her I couldn't resist.

I love it, except I wish she was a touch more forwards or you moved a touch right, so the sun was fully behind her. The loss of definition in her chin detracts from her, IMO. Lovely conversion though.

Dan, I like everything about this except one small thing. The sun under her chin is bothering me. I think it would be better if it were totally hidden behind her head or body. JMHO!

Thanks for the input, fellas. I do have one frame with her head fully blocking the sun but she turned her face slightly to her right, giving me less of a profile and more of the 3/4 shot of the back of her head. I thought of the two frames this one was more complete.

I really like what you did with this, but like the others have said that little bit of sun flare is a little distracting. Great shot though
