I like the look, but a funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. All the banding.......... I can't figure out why the images shows such a pronounced version of it.

And the white S-curve..... it keeps drawing my eye away from the rocks.

The shot in my computer doesn't have the banding. How strange!

The white S was a helpful swan, but I quite liked the effect it had so I left it in.

fwiw, I just was trying to work around some of the same banding. Mine came from pushing some contrast and levels too far. When I backed it off, it was gone. But I think I had to restart the editing with the original file as too much info was lost in the adjustments.

I do like the potential in the shot, but I have to agree about the white streak - distracting.

FWIW I like the swan trail. It makes it different from the average shot. I like it because the swan made a nice shape and it was NOT swimming back and forth, which would have made it weird.

Very nice work IMO.

Banding is a problem I have had with some of my long exposures taken even in 16 bits. I have found that if I try to take the contrast too far it will show up. Any chance this image was taken in a 8bit jpeg? That will cause banding for certain. As far the as the S shape in the picture, it would have worked if it was coming from the top down towards the rocks. It looks like you are having fun experimenting and trying new things. That is what it is all about.
