its a nice shot and a nice memory. my only pointer is something that isn't necessarily controllable in this situation... the sun is on his back and his face is in the shadows. i'd also maybe crop the picture from the right to put him a little bit tighter along the edge.

Besides the things that were said in the previous post, which I personally didnt notice till I read them, I really like this photo. Cool shot!

yeah, I see what you mean about his face in the shadows
I'm still working on composure, I have lots to learn about lighting. I wasn't using a flash and it was about 2pm so lighting wasn't optimal.

yea i think even the popup flash woulda worked well here just to give a little fill light... nice moment though

see, I never know with the popup flash
usually it washes out everything.
I guess I could try it both ways, but you know how little ones are, you get a millisecond to capture the moment and only one chance to get it right.
