Not big on flowers myself, but I would get rid of the blue. I think I would also crop most of the top to make it more rectangular.

I cropped out the blue and some of the top, c.cloud. Looks a lot better imo.

Dallmeyer: I used the Canon 85mm 1.8

For me the DOF is to shallow.

I would prefer the entire flower was in focus. Specifically, the top end of the stamen and the near extreme of the petals.

Does your camera have a DOF preview button?

The background colosr are nicely complementary with the flower.

I like the shallow dof personally makes the drippy flower petals pop right out awesome job

I'm going to concur with KMH. I think it's a terrific capture but the shallow DOF is ruining it for me.
