One last image from Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.

Oh, yeah baby! this is a fine, fine image. I saw another shot, of a rider with the name tag LEAH on her motorcycle, and it was okay...but this one, wow, this one really has wonderful appeal with the reds, and the diagonals. Maybe dodge the blacks a bit, but otherwise, wow, this is a gem.

Thanks @weepete and @Derrel.

Yeah, Derrel, that image was my favorite right up until I saw this one last night. Now this one is.

Very very nice. At what focal length was this? You seem to be pretty close to the action.

Thanks @goooner, I was at 81mm on my 7D mk II with a 70-200mm f/4L. This image is cropped tighter but I was inside the corner station at that corner of the track, so I was close. (As close as safety would allow anyway.)

I've driven past the turn off to the Hallett speedway many times, but never had the opportunity to go in. That shot makes me wish I had!

@Peeb, I went with a camera club, but I know that they have a track photog. Not sure what access you could get just showing up, but there are some spots that you could shoot from inside the fence.

Ron, I am the same way with doughnuts in the dozen box from WinCo!!! That one was my faaaavorite.....ohhhhh, no, this one's my favorite! lol. Just kidding around a bit, as always. But seriously, this shot has some small things that make the feeling of speed come through. Like for example, the rear fender of the bike--covers both the track and the grass, very white, very stark, that is a strong visual element. Same with the small stripes or rubber streaks in front of the front wheel--those streaks help a lot. The roadway/track is soooo narrow too! THat visually adds a sense of danger, to me at least. The grass is right there, it's conveying the idea of being right at the literal edge. The light angle ,and where the shadows fall is also fortunate, and does not distract.
