Wow is that an impressive event! Awesome timing and great capture.

Wow, I wonder how often that's captured!? NatGeo photographer to FTW!

CC, what a great capture. You continue to raise the bar for this forum when it comes to bird photography. It just shows, that if you go out often enough, you will be rewarded, and what a reward. I would seriously think about approaching a "birding" magazine and see if they would be interested in buying these images together with a short story/description. - yes - seriously. Find out who the Art Director of Photo Editor is and send them an e-mail with maybe a small copy of one picture and explain to him what you have and maybe your idea(s) for a short descriptive narrative based on the sequence of images that you took. Do you know if these were two males fighting over territory and/or a female?

I really wish I could have a do-over on this one. A higher shutter speed would have helped with sharpness.. But I consider myself very lucky to see and record this. I asked some birders about the behavior, so maybe later I will have an update..

That durn eagle is flying UPSIDE DOWN!! That's just crazy stuff! :lmao:

Coastalconn, seriously, I am not sure if you inspire me to keep plugging away at improving my feeble little bird shots, or give up birds altogether. I tell myself it's the lens--couldn't be the photographer. :biglaugh:

Never give up :) I can't believe how far I have progressed in 6 months! It's hard to pinpoint, I got my D300 in June and my images seemed to get better, but I became more addicted at the same time and started going out almost every morning that there is sun. 27K clicks since mid June might be slightly obsessed:)

Outstanding shot. I am so wonder after visit your series its really amazing !!

that crazy, please update us if your birding friends have any insight on the event. your shots keep making me wanting a 500mm+ lens.

Went and looked at rest in your series and you got ones that would make super cool inspirational posters (well for Americans . Specifically the merge and approaching ones.
