This was at Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont,Ky I know I need to buy a different wide angle lens so I dont cut things off but right now I am just working on the masking and photoshop skills so its not overcooked . So composition was not what I was thinking about when I took this just trying to understand processing in photoshop . more BTW the tasting at the end was very nice a few shots and nice host to tell you more about shots Basile Hayden was one that we had very smooth good aftertaste as well

Interesting image. I like how it captures the textures and age of the scene. Not too sure about the "very smooth" part though...was at Woodford Reserve recently and discovered it must be an acquired taste!

Beautiful job Cabo. I wish the pic was bigger so I could see the detail in all those textures.
I have a Megafactory DVD on Jim Beam. The whole story from start to finish how they make the stuff.

Well captured. I've always wanted to go there. Back when I could still drink (can't because of medications now) Jim Beam Black Label was my preferred poison. Well, my affordable poison of choice.

Thanks for the nice comments is there a way I can crop this to make it look better I am just still a noob trying to learn

Personally, I wouldnt crop a thing. There isnt anything that doesnt belong that isnt in the main pic, like for example all those informative, but unsightly signs and that Keep Out rope. I like everything from the wheel on the wheelbarrow, to the barrels on the right, the roof and the floor. Nope nothing can go.

Stunningly well done HDR. The tones are just beautiful.

Not the best photograph, IMO, but the HDR is amazing.

Nice, even HDR exposure. The signs unfortunately break up free movement of the eye and makes it cluttered, but that's nothing within your control of course.

Can you explain why its not the best photograph I am kinda lost on this?

As a photograph, it would be much better if you were given 10 minutes to go in there and take out all those signs and the barrier rope. Now that would be one great photo with your processing. As it stands now, its a shot of a museum cluttered with signage and given a really good HDR process.

Kinda what bynx said... in the end you took a shot of a museum display. It has its interesting elements because the stuff in the display is cool and is laid out interestingly, but ... it's a museum display. First off, it has signs and a big rope in front of it, which take away from any artistry... and second... it's a museum display. It's kinda like shooting fish in a barrel. Or, perhaps, shooting pictures of animals in cages at a zoo.

I understand what both of you are saying , I didnt really care about the photograph the composition because I got very discouraged with the whole HDR whats real whats overcooked or not overcooked so I decided to try and work on one thing at a time now I will go back and compose shots better and find better things to shoot , heck I live in Chicago there is a million things to shoot here , but thanks for clearing up I am just trying to learn and not produce overcooked images

That makes sense. And, really, I think you pretty much nailed it.

I don't really care for Beam (I'm more of a Maker's fan), but that's a truly superb example of HDR...
