Opinions on Nikon D3000 as a Starter DSLR

Hey guys...Brand new member here....wanting to get you guys' opinion on the Nikon D3000 as a Starter DSLR for someone interested in getting into/learning more about photography. I found a really sweet deal on it and am thinking about getting it soon.

Thanks guys!!

Not that I believe everything Ken Rockwell says, nor do I always make my buying decisions based on his comments, but he does make some good points in the following link concerning the D3000.

I'll agree that it would be nice to not have to consider getting AF-S lenses, but the D3000 was the only Nikon in my budget, and I haven't regretted it at all. I bought mine in May and have been having a great time learning to use it!

sounds like your skilled and knowledgeable enough to maybe be beyond a starter level camera in general.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not lol. I'm very much a beginner, but as I've started and seen how my pictures have turned out, I'd like to upgrade bodies sometime in the future. My big deal is $$$$, d3000 was the right camera for the money at the time, so I went for it. I don't regret it, nor will I ever. It's been a great learning tool :)
