opinions?

can i get some opinions on some photos? and maybe some advice on how to improve the qualty of my work? i used an iPad 3 and a Nikon FM2 with either a Tamron 90mm f/2.5 MF Tele-Macro lens (bad idea to take landscape shots with a macro lens, but some of them turned out great!) or a Zoom-Nikkor 43-86 f/3.5 MF zoom lens. i don't remember the shutter times or the f stops that i used for each photo, so don't ask

Pleeeease, just pick one or two for C&C. These are way too many.

#5, the b/w photo is the only one that works for me. The rest just don't have any visual punch in my view. Of course the sunset pictures are pretty; but all sunsets are pretty. there is nothing new or exciting about those. The last picture looks like the buildings are leaning back. Doesn't look right to me. The rest leave me wondering what you saw that was of interest. They just look like snapshots taken without a lot of thought behind them. I don't mean to be critical. But you asked for opinions so I am being honest. Good photographs need something that grabs your attention and makes you look for more than a second or two. Most of these don't have it.

really? i was hesitant about putting the B&W one up, its the most heavily edited one out of all of them. about the sunsets, i Photoshopped the birds in, and i thought that would make it a bit more interesting and exciting of a photo. in the first 3 i was focusing on the rays of light and what they were shining on, which was the NYC skyline in 2 of the first 3. its alright, i was hoping someone would be critical like the way you just were, it gives me something to think about next time i take a photo of a landscape.
