Am I stupid or should I have just gone with the D7000? The plan is to pick up the 16-35 for landscapes. Will be keeping my D90...

Just a little nervous I've made the right decision... Since the D7000 is newer tech.

D700 is far better than the plastic d7000

Wait till you get the D700. Your current bit of buyer's remorse will probably evaporate after the first CF card you download to your computer.

Is it really plastic? I've read on DP Review that the body is made out of magnesium. Of course, it's definitely no D700. :D

Haha, I called to cancel but it has already shipped. They said to try it out and return it if I don't like it.

I am sure I'll love it.

I'd suggest a 20mm f2.8 prime for landscapes. 20mm is very wide on full frame.

The older, manual focus, primes work fantastic on the D700, and they're built better while also being less expensive.

Its here! I don't get to play with it until I get home :(

OH I WANT TOO!!!!

Ill trade ya a brand spanking new D7000 for your D700 :)

Enjoy the new toy.

Well crap. I think I might have to keep this thing.
I didn't have the best conditions today and drove around trying to find something to shoot just to see how it would do. Here are two samples.

1) For some reason I liked this in black and white, added slight vignette. Some might like the vignette, some might not.

2) Just some flowering weeds on the side of the road. The sun was just above the tree line and still had a very gold color to it.

I know these aren't great shots - just had to shoot something! :)
