First time I managed to get a shot of them. Just wish I'd gotten the darn wing tips sharp. And the picture isn't as crooked as it looks, the nest is on a pole and crooked.

No Bill. They been there awhile. The nest is huge and a pair returns every year.

Wonder if they subcontracted that out to a beaver. Lol. Great set though barb. On the last shot my guess would be motion blur. Maybe a higher shutter speed next time around.

Yup, motion blur, I was totally not prepared. I was actually shooting the baby and in fact had Scott's D80 and the sigma 500. All of a sudden mom and dad swooped in. Scott tried to use the D7100 to get shots of them coming in but none of them came out. I grabbed the camera and started shooting after mom (or dad) landed. Didn't change the settings :banghead: I swear I will get this right some day.

Good job Barb.Dat nest, Whoa

I know! The nest is HUGE. The baby looked so little in it. Apparently it's been there awhile and they come back every year.

Great to see Barb and hopefully one day I'll get to see them :) They are one of my favourites from up your way, nicely done.

All the best Barb.

Danny.

Thank Danny! Open invitation, you ever want to go see the Osprey, we have a spare room and an open door. Come visit!

Good one, Barb...I like the second one best with all its glorious wings flapping, ready to go
.

Thanks! Me too. I stuck around hoping they'd come back but apparently there is a second male trying to get into the nest so they just sat on a wire and watched. We're heading back up that way soon.

Not to worry, I've got enough bif shots that missed to choke a horse. Or a moose, if I could find one.. lol

Hitchcock was right, birds are evil. Lol

I actually kind of like the motion blur, and that nest looks like it could easily fit in a human. Maybe you should go camp in there and wait for a closeup :-P
Cool shots barb!
