Our dogs in action.

I am very new to Photography and this is one of my first pictures to take of Quality! My wife got me a Nikon D5000 with the 18-55 lens for Christmas. Well here goes nothing, please dont flame me for being new just give me some tips for the basics. Thanks guys!

The snow looks too gray in the first photo. I like the 2nd one where it looks like he/she is coming out of the brush. Nice looking dogs!

She looks like a witch, i am afraid; may be because your wife clicked at some angriest moment of her; both photos come out excellent

It's hard to expose a black object in snow properly. Anything white generally needs to be over exposed. Black, under exposed. so you see the dilemma. I'd expose more for the snow then correct in PP.
