Out of my comfort zone

Does this do anything for you, does it work, not work? C&C appreciated and feel free to do with it as you please in order to show me something (if it's worth it).

Question is: does this do anything for you? For me yes and no. I'm a sucker for B&W. I wish every picture could be portrayed in b&w. However, it seems as if something is lost in it being in b&w. The subject is a little lost is the photo. But then again, he is in camouflage- the subject blurred with the water might be the look you are going for...a camouflage look. It seems sharp and in focus where it should be. How is this out of your comfort zone? (I just joined-if you mentioned this before, my apologies now

)

Maybe duck huntimg???? Though that's a pretty weird looking "boat". I'm not sure myself. It's an interesting picture though.

He is fishing.

Anyways the issue here is that everything is the same tone. That is why it's hard to separate the subject from the setting.

Might be a cool edit with everything else B&W with the man and his boat in color. But, I agree everything is the same tone. I do like how the 1/3 in front 2/3 in behind "rule" is very well executed in this photograph. That is something I need to work on. :02.47-tranquillity:

I have for the most part avoided B&W because I see things in most of all vivid colors - particularly nature and wildlife. 2015 I will try to add b/w into my photography fold.
There has to be a few photos on the hard drive worthy of some b&w attention.
