I found this leaf resting very quietly between a railroad track and tie

Merh, it's nice, but you can't really tell that it's resting on a railroad, therefore making the surroundings of the leaf look a bit... random? Like they don't belong in the pic..
I think if you would've caught the railroad a bit more it would make a much better picture x)

I really like the textures and colours in this shot, I think that the shot is good as it is (but perhaps with a different title?).

One little thing, though - can you straighten it out? I get distracted by the lop-sided-ness of the railway tie at the bottom.

Thanks. As far as the lines, there are really 3 horizontal lines in this shot. The angle it was shot at caused two of the lines to appear off, I had to choose which line to go straight with and I chose the middle line at the top of the leaf. Perhaps not the best angle, this shot wont win any awards, but it is an interesting shot to me.

I also find it an interesting shot, very much so in fact. The colours & textures are really eye-catching.

Did you try it the other way? i.e. with the railway at the bottom closer to straight, and the lines at the top allowed to tilt?

Or, you might just have to go back out and find that leaf to re-shoot

Textures and such are neat but it's hard to tell what we're looking at, but not hard ENOUGH to make it an abstract. Overall I'd say "not quite, but good try".

Yeah, I do agree with you, Manaheim.

There's something there in the image that I really like though, which is why I keep coming back to it.
OP - if you ever get the chance to re-shoot this, please post it?
