Outtakes? Or are they?

Playing in the studio, en route to creating the Scary Man image (posted earlier). I have these two. Now these could be outtakes, or these could be deliberate...what do you think of them?

I promise not to think you are being pretentious if you think they have "artistic merit"
I promise not to throw the rattle out of the pram if you say they should be consigned to the bin!

That first one could provide some inspiration for further projects.

The second one kind of reminds me of one of those "Scary Stories" illustrations.

My first reaction is: outtakes.

Then again, I've seen very "bad" stuff on album and book covers so it would really depends on the way it gets used.

As for the artsy thing, you, as the author/creator, are the only one who should decide that. Then, if you do decide it is art, we get to trash it or love it

Thanks. of course, one man's art is another man's pile of junk.
And I know what you mean about album and book covers...anything could be used, couldn't it?

I know my opinion on these...and it isn't particularly "art", although there is a modicum of merit to them.
