Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZX3

When I switch on camera to take picture the screen does not show the scene to be photographed. all digital info etc is displayed, lens extended and open etc... sounds as though photo has been taken but nothing recorded. Menu works OK etc... Has anyone any ideas? Is there any form of reset?

Is there a memory card in the camera ?

Check with another SD Card or try formatting the one in it. Assuming it has one
