Panasonic Lumix GF1 rumoured launch Sept 1st

Looks like Panasonic is about to announce the launch of a new micro 4/3rds camera to compete with the Olympus E-P1. It's rumoured to be smaller and with a pop-up flash. Sounds interesting, I can't wait.

Yup.. I heard about it a few days ago. If you look REAL closely, the lens optics is branded "Leica" :thumbup: This is a good thing because I think the issue with m4/3rd system is the lack of a lenses to consider it a "system".

The rumor from Leica channels is that they are not planning on releasing m4/3rd mount camera themselves but are very much interested in lens production. Fine with me as their Digilux and D-lux cameras were for the most part rebrand jobs from Panasonic. Looks like Panasonic and Olympus are going to be the players in this arena.

My only complaint thusfar is that I don't see provisions for an optical viewfinder...
