Very low light meant low shutter speed of 1/360th, even at f2.8 and ISO 1200.

what was the shutter speed? Based on the background, cant be that long. Nice shot regardless.

Thanks. 1/360th sec and 300mm f2.8 lens (not mine unfortunately )

i think it came out good, the only thing i would try is to sharpen the face and mid body.

I love the colors. As was said, it would be nice if the face were a bit sharper, but still a great shot.

wow. It does not seem like a panning shot to me- more DoF related but it is still an excellent shot.

I agree with snakeguy, this doesn't seem like a panning shot where you followed the bird at a low shutter speed and caused the background to have motion streaks which help in showing moving.

Just seems that you shot wide open and didn't freeze the bird entirely.

Either way, it is a pretty nice image. Could use a little less space up top and be a little sharper, but overall, nice

Yes, it was panning but at 1/360th the background isn't as 'streaked' as it could be. I agree it could be sharper but at ISO 1200 I'm fighting a bit of noise too.
