how are these techniques done? I can't google anything about these lense...anyone have any idea how I can shoot these kind of photos?

what kind of lens should I buy to get these kind of pictures? I have a canon 50d, thanks.

Agree with this. The effects are nice and would be cool for personal play time, but I don't see any practicality to it. I know photography is not always about practicality and that's why we have effects like this, but I don't see anybody paying money for one of these shots. Give it a try and have fun with it, then report back here with some of your best.

Maybe you can change my mind...

I've seen similar done by shooting into a silver Christmas ball. A cheap way to play with the technique till you get bored?
