Well have not been posting too much as i have been out and about busy with my Camera in my free time.
Yesterday there was a Bunch of Guys Para sailing down at the beach and i thought what a great Oportunity for me too try some actions shots which i have not done with this Camera Before. I literally took probably close to 100 photo's and thats no lie...lol....

Of course i picked out a few of my favorites and thought i would share for some C&C & ADVICE.

Thank you so much for looking.

Rotate the ones with a visible horizon so that it's straight/level.

What were you using for a camera? I ask because there's no real depth of field. If you were using a point and shoot that explains it, if you had a zoom lens and dslr then you should have opened the aperture a bit. They're a bit dark too.

Nikon D5000 REZNAP...I was on Manual mode mostly and was up and down with my fstops and Apeture..
This was my 1st time shooting something like this which is why i was trying different settings and have been taking notes in my little red book.:D

They don't look dark on my screen though.:er:

def dark.
no detail in any of the dark areas at all.

tough conditions to shoot with (assuming) a low end tele. not sure how far away you were, but a nice flash at full power might have helped to get some light on the subjects.
#2 has a lot of empty space behind him....id rather see that emptiness in front of him so it looks like hes heading toward the pic not out of it.
too bad the guy in #1 was totally shadowed by his board.

kite surfing looks so fun!

they are all quite dark..

Ok i am going too sound really stupid now....But what do u mean by dark? Because honestly on my screen they do not seem Dark***Are you saying they are hard too see?

In any photograph you have a subject.... something that you are taking a picture of... you need to somehow highlight that subject so your eye is drawn to it. In your case the subject is the parasurfers...and if you look at the parasurfers are dark...almost black. What is light is the background and the landscape.... so what you have essentially done is taken a few pictures of a choppy sea that happens to have some kite surfers on it. My eye and brain tell me that I should be looking at the surfers, but I can't because they are dark.

I'm sure it was a fun shoot, but technically they all have some significant flaws.

#1 The subject is drak, you care barely make out his face...

#2 The subject is dark. Its also blury due to too slow of a shutter speed. I'm almost thinking that you like it because its blurry... but when you use blur to show motion, you almost need to have something in the shot to be stationary and crips, and something else to be blurry to ex****uate the motion. A moving river works good because the water is in movement but the scenery is stationary, a panning car works good becuase the car is stationary and the back ground is blurry.

#3 The best of the group, but you have a lot of empty space and the kite on the right is clipped off the image. This shot needs to be zoomed in more and better framed.

#4 Great picture of a light house, but what's that big dark thing in the middle? Kinda looks like a guy surfing, but I can't tell for sure because its so dark. (a little sarcasm there, but I think you get the point)

#5 Great picture of the water...but again, the subject is dark. Also missed the focus. You are focused on the water, not the surfer.

Ok Gotchya! Thank you so much for explaining that too me....
