@Designer thanks - I am not completely sure. I heard them chatting on the platform. A lot of people got out to see what was going on, he said that he had fallen on the track. An ambulance was called and some people stayed with him. I had the distinct impression he was a little drunk, though not in the conventional 'drunks on the metro' way, like the guys who hang out all day smoking and drinking in the stations to keep warm. I guess he was carrying shopping, as a carton of minced beef was next to him. Maybe his wife sent him out to buy lunch and he thought he would have a few glasses of wine before returning

I only took one photo. I think I felt a bit bad taking photos, though that was stupid as he was not in any clear danger and there was nothing I could have done. If I see something like this again, I will do more to document it, providing of course there is nothing else that I can do.
