Pentax SF-1

Hi folks,
A buddy has a Pentax SF-1 that he hasn't used in some time and now he finds that it seems "sluggish" and controls are stiff to operate.
He'd like to know if it's worth having it checked out and if so where?
Suggestions anyone?

I am sure he could get a used one for the price of the repair. So I would say it isnt worth it.
