Pentax SMC DA 40mm f2.8 ltd - Not sure if I like it!

I just bought a Pentax SMC DA 40mm f2.8 ltd lens for £120 and took it out yesterday to test it out. The first thing I did was get rid of the horrible metal lens hood and cap. I had mixed results with the lens and too be honest I could not see any real difference between this lens and my 35mm f2.4 plastic fantastic, in fact I think the 35mm produced more consistent results?

The sample images you posted don't look anything like the examples on the Pentax User group. Yours look like hyper contrast and sharpness, and possibly some white balance issues. Overall the user group had high marks for the lens and few cons.

I have the HD 70 f2.4 Ltd (pancake series), love it. Great color rendering and sharp.
