that's the problem they're just people and boats with nothing of real interest to look at photographically.
They are well done technically but artistically, imo, not so much.

Pretty much they same way I see most street or portrait shots just photographs most of them anyways.

Maybe mediocre street shots or portraits, but the whole point of 'street' photography or even portraiture is to capture something special about that moment in time or about that person. They're not 'just pictures of people'. They are pictures of people in a particular situation or arrangement or behavior that is interesting or that conveys a message or feeling. A picture of random people walking down the street isn't 'street photography' just because it's a picture of a street scene. There has to be something else to the picture to make it interesting.

DarkShadow: I agree with The_Traveler. The problem here is - there is no human story, the relation between these people and their boats is not what I expect when I see the title.
I will add my 2p here with my "Man and his boat" picture - not a masterpeace either, but at least here is a story of a man with a boat:

I can see #3 in a brochure. I think the first one might have been on the right tract, depending on what the the kid (forward) ended up doing; maybe a shot a minute or two later?

I understand what you guys are saying and don't disagree on artistic side. However my mian goal is to get crisp accurate color picture with somewhat decent compositions. Maybe the artistic side will come with experience I don't know.

Fair enough, just do not feel offended or anything, thats what this forum is about after all - I always prefer some harsh critique of my own pics rather than the "what a cutie" bla bla.. As for crisp accurate pictures and decent composition - you already have that, so it is time to move forward !!!

No offense at all and if it was not for the critique I may have not improved. Back in march when I started my bird photography was pathetic but since then it has Improved.Some keepers and some not is better then all recycle bins. I agree on sugar coating helps no one get better. BTW nice crop
