Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Hello all, just getting into photography and would like honest opinions on getting better. Lots to learn.

Anyway, I like this shot of my dog, Mia. Some PP, but not much, just contrast and saturation.

(Editted to include after photo...)

Thanks,

My cat's called "Mia", too :D.
Your Mia is cute!
Nice photo of her - maybe you should crop it so she's filling the frame more. Much unnecessary space around her.

Too much negative space, a little overexposed, looks extremely soft too.

the dark bar at the top (looks like a fence?) is quite distracting.

yea, maybe I will crop out the fence, but I like her off center some. Using the rule of thirds. Not sure what you meant by soft. Out of focus, not sharp..? I believe I used AP on this one to get a nice depth of focus.

thanks for the tips guys, will post when I get time to edit it...

i would consider a BG that doesnt match the doggie. :D

I agree with others... the background matches the dog, it's an odd crop, and it looks to be blown out a bit. Also, I find it pretty soft, as in not sharp, or completely in focus.

I agree on background. Grass is just starting to come back now. Should make for better contrast... ;)

i think its in focus but you left the aperture too wide. stop it down to 5.6 and you can still get some bokeh with it being a bit sharper

Ok, I think I used an aperture of 8.0, so I will try a lower setting next time. Here is the pic after doing what was suggested...

i find it hard to believe you were at f8. are you sure about that?

the rule of thirds still has not been applied, and the background is still, well, the same. i actually prefer the first one you posted over your new edit.
