Last week I went into down town to get some shots. Out of about 200 shots, these are the only ones worth saving. And even these are not great, I know.

Thought i'd share just for fun.

I had my amature fun in Picasa so I may have gone overboard with saturation and sharpness!!!

I like this one:

This was just a quick snap shot while leaving Reading terminal market. I am not a fan, but the signs are neat. .

This was a snapshot that I cropped the hell out of. Can you tell??? LOL

IMHO, this shot was worth the whole trip downtown. I really like it. I know its nothing special, It is just the best shot I got that day (in my eyes). (And yep, I know thats not saying much!)

Well, I hope you liked the shots of my home town. I would love any help, tips, CC that you can provide. Anything you would have done different.

Thanks Guys!

Yeah, I run around the city shooting all kinds of things also. A few comments -

#1 yes, a little overboard on the saturation! I've never seen the Schuylkill (or any river) that color before. There's some interesting subject matter in here but it's probably the subject of several different photos. There's some color and contrast on the left, so if you turned further that way and maybe got a piece of 30th st station and zoomed in a little, that could be one of them.

I agree the last is the most interesting, but the contrast is too high. There are very light and dark areas that don't have much detail.

The one of Reading terminal is good also - maybe crop the partial person and partial lamp on the left?

Keep shooting! Manyunk is pretty interesting as well.

I agree that the last is by far the best image.... I think playing around with curves could really bring this image out, and add just the right amount of contrast. Personally, I like a lot of contrast in my black and white work, so IMOP, you are on the right track with the shot.

I keep opening the Philly threads hoping to see a cool shot of Boathouse Row. Haven't seen any though... guess its slightly overdone.

I would like #1 a lot more if it wasn't so bright.

well...i'll say this...over saturation sure made filth-a-delphia look differen!
J/k ...we are originally from around there :sexywink: thanks for makin the WUDER look blue! lol

Ive been wanting to do that but I never feel like going over there at night to try it.
