My dad died of Covid and I am liquidating his estate. I came across this lens. Now i do not know much about lenses so I bow to those who do. What I do know is this lens has not a blemish on it. no scratches no dents the lenses are as clear as can be.

What I need is info on this lens and what it may be worth. As hard as it is I have to liquidate the estate to pay off his bills.

So there ya'll tell me.

Sorry to hear about your dad, I can imagine it's a difficult time for you and your family.

What you've got there is a budget 500mm f8 manual focus lens, and should come with a 2x teleconverter to extend the focal length to 1000mm.

From what I can tell they go for around $100 new and under $50 on the used market.

Thanks for the information. It really helps

We used to call them 'baseball bats'. They're about as cheap of a 500mm as one can manufacture. Not only manual focus but manual aperture as well. If you wanted to shoot at any aperture smaller than f/8, you had to 'open' the aperture, focus, then 'close' the aperture. That's what the O and C are on the ring below the aperture settings. Proper exposure was a hassle back in the day before automatic exposure.

Only real advantage to these is they are T-mount, meaning the mount used to attach it to a camera is interchangeable. So someone with a Canon system could lend it to a Nikon shooter, and all that was needed was to remove the Canon adapter and install a Nikon adapter. Or Pentax, or Minolta, or Olympus, or screw-mount....
