i dont like the edits... but its mainly because you didnt have a great photo to work with in the beginning.... its always hard when shooting into the sun..

yea it is hard to work with the sun. Do i need some sort of filter for that?

I like the edit for the ground - it brings out the detail. The tree in the original is far more dramatic as-is, however and the sky looks better with color because it adds interest to your photo in an otherwise not terribly exciting shot.

The shot also lacks perspective, for me at least - I'm not sure exactly which direction the tree is growing from. This can be a worthy goal for some images, but it just makes this one a bit confusing.

Look at getting some ND (neutral density) filters.
