Photo Editing Software

Hi everyone, I'm new here and would like to say so far I've learned a lot from this forum. I have been into photography for sometime and have owned many cameras, but only now am I getting into the editing software. Currently, I am test driving Paint Shop Pro X2. I have tried PS in the past and it was difficult to learn. PSPX2 is great, but it eats your memory and if you have several photos open everything else will run slow (I'm also into multitasking while working on editing my photos). Is this a problem with PS? Thanks in advance for any input.
