Photo Feedback (1st Edited Photo)

Hi All,

I havent been on here in a while, photography took a back seat for a bit. I am back at it and really want to put my best foot forward, stay active in the community and work my way into being a paid photographer. Nothing better than getting paid to have fun and be creative. So what I am hoping is to get as much in depth feedback as possible to help me hone my skills.

I am also going to put together a website once I get some more photos edited, but I need to learn PhotoShop first since I have it already. I have considered getting LightRoom in hopes there is less of a learning curve, but that is for another post. So without further babbling please take a look at my first edited photo in PS (I feel the sun is too bright but wasnt sure how to adjust that). Thanks for the feedback in advance.

its a pleasing composition to me but the colour does seem a bit off, the sun is very bright but something about the colour just takes the edge off, still a nice image IMO

I agree that the color is slightly off, but for me, I wish the foreground would have been lighter.

Great composition, my only gripe would be if the bottom of the image was brighter and we could see the details of what I assume is the beach. Nice image regardless!

Its a nice composition but colours seem a bit saturated by post processing.

To get this type of shot without filters has more to do with experimentation than processing after the event. Try winding down the exposure when pointing a camera at the sun (to the point that it all looks black except the sun) and bring up the exposure a stop at a time adjusting as necessary to get the effect you want. This will also saturate the colours in camera and lessen the need for processing the colour after the event. Assume that the lowest ISO setting is your friend in this scenario.
