Photo shoot??? Backdrop, lighting, setup, ect....

I am looking to launch a clothing line and I would like to do a very nice photo shoot, but I don't know what I need...?

-I would like to do a white muslin background, (i think... is that what the pro's use?)


-I have a nikon d50 to use.

-What should I use for lighting setup?

-Any other help would be much appreciated too!!!

Try Alien Bees for your lights. They are inexpensive and will take a lot of abuse. Also, customer service is TOPS. B400's will be just fine. We use them in the horse industry and they are bullet proof. Get your umbrellas and stands off of Ebay for cheap.

Do it right and hire a photographer. You are not going to buy a camera and lights and start taking professional quality photos, the kind you need to really sell your merchandise.
