I'm looking for recommendations on what work for you--- not for you to do my shopping.

I have and want to be able to carry:

• Nikon D7000 (gripped)
• Nikkor 18-55mm
• Nikkor 50mm 1.8
• Nikkor 80-200 2.8
• Nikkor 24-70 2.8
• Nikon SB-700
• Various odds and ends- Batteries, filters, papers, gels.

and various odds and ends.. I'm thinking a backpack would work great for me because I travel a lot on airplanes etc.. so it's mostly used as my carry on bag when I do travel.. Right now I have the Campudaypack and I don't think it will fit nicely when the 24-70 arrives. Currently I have my 80-200 in the top zipper part. So I think I have outgrown this bag for now.

I use a Tenba Shootout roller/backpack (I can wear it or roll it) and I've been quite pleased. They claim it holds a 17" laptop and while I do have a 17" Macbook Pro, I think it's a tight fit. But a 15" would easily slip in (there's a special protected compartment for the laptop). In the main camera section it holds my camera body with 24-70, my 70-200, a 14mm, 135mm and 100mm prime, my speedlight, several filters, and misc. small accessories (chargers, cables, etc.)

It has a flap that folds out and can hold tripods as well, and comes with a rain-jacket (but that's pretty common.) I will say that while at an outdoor concert, we were hit with a freak SEVERE thunderstorm (massive trees were downed, canopies and chairs were sent flying and the rain was torrential). As I saw the storm approaching, I knew I'd never make it to shelter in time. I put the camera inside, sealed the bag, and put on the rain-jacket. I came out looking like a drowned rat. But inside the bag it was bone dry.

The 'small' version of the bag only claims to have a laptop compartment suitable for a 13" laptop.

Thank you Tim! I'm going to add that one to my list! So far I have these two that I found and seemed to fit me pretty well and a heck of a price!

Vivitar - May not be big enough but for the price it's worth a shot to try it out and possibly returning!
